Travelling to Montenegro

You have several options to travel to Montenegro. The country is very well connected to the rest of the world and your choice of transportation mostly depends on the type of vacation you have planned. We have created three pages to help you decide on the optimal travel method for yourself.

Air

Montenegro has two international airports: One in Podgorica - the capital of Montenegro - and one in Tivat, closer to the adriatic sea. Both of them are reachable from various cities worldwide (Belgrad, Istanbul, Vienna, Rome, Zurich, Zagreb, Frankfurt, amongst others) and various carriers serve them (Montenegro Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Austrian, Croatia Airlines and JAT to name a few). - More information about getting to Montenegro by plane can be found in our detailed description.

Sea

Besides air travel, Montenegro is well connected to Italy with ferries starting in Ancona and Bari (Italy) and arriving in Bar - right at the adriatic coast. - See our detailed description about traveling to Montenegro with a Ferry.

Land

The third option is driving down the adriatic coast, via Croatia or entering the country in the north-east via Serbia. The mountain passes in the east, towards Albania, are less comfortable and therefore not recommended. - Read our detailed description about traveling to Montenegro by car.
