The small city lies in a valley and it's name means ‘’White Field’’.  The town got its name after a white daisy flower that covers the city in spring.

Bijelo Polje is not only rich with its untouched nature but also with it's historical past: It's a city with archaeological sites dating back to the Neolithic and the Bronze period. The city was the birthplace of many prominent writers and today, Bijelo Polje has become the town of many international festivals.

Around the city there are a few sources of mineral water where you can freely drink pure spring mineral water. Beside those springs, the city is also known for its very tasty food and the traditional ‘’Heljdija’’, which is recommended to be tried when you are staying in Bijelo Polje.
